How do you play poker?

How do you play poker?
I know there are diffrent types of poker, but could you tell me the most popular, and the basic of that. I know nothing about poker at all. I’ve heard that Texas Hold’em is pretty popular, so I saw this video and there was this one thing I couldn’t understand with something called high card. The cards were: five, eight, four, three and queen. Anyway, as an example I use Texas Hold’em even though I don’t know anything about it. What happens if you get bad cards like: two, five, seven, nine and queen? I realise that is very unlikely to happen, but I don’t understand what you will do if you get really bad cards in poker. Please help me! Some of my friends wants to play it, and I don’t want to be left out.

if you get really bad cards, no even two somethings, you just throw your cards in, and wait til the next hand.

unless you are really really good at bluffing.
