I was enjoying texas keep em poker and this transpired?

I was playing texas hold em poker and this happened?
I had 1 ten and a low number and My opponent had a ace and a eight.
On the table their was ten,ace,eight and some other ones I did not have.
At the end said he was the winner then said congratulations I won.
How is this possible?
Oh and we went All In as well

no answer is possible without knowing the value and suits of each card in play. You could have had a flush or a straight or a straight-flush or three of a kind
